During those occasional hot summer days when the demand for electricity is at its highest and central air conditioners (CACs) are running at their maximum, they can strain Ontario’s electricity system. You can do your part to help the province manage this peak demand by enrolling in peaksaver®. Your participating electric utility will install the necessary device (either a thermostat or switch) enabling your CAC to receive a signal that will automatically cycle it down for short periods of time. It will happen only on the hottest weekdays during the middle of the day. Chances are you will not even notice the 1° – 2°C change in your home’s temperature.
As a ‘thank you’ for enrolling, you will receive *$25.
